    I just read “Drive Suite” for the first time and–god–it is horrendous. However, it was the only one in the series I don’t have a physical copy of; now I’m quite glad of it!
    Can you possibly shed any light on this piece, Jed? It seems pretty bebop damaged.

    Dan,

    Sorry for the delay. I just saw this. Not sure if it is bebop as much as late 50s jazz like Cecil Taylor. Bremser was in the Village at the time hanging around with Leroi Jones in the Yugen days. Free jazz more than bebop. I could be wrong. Anyway here is something I wrote on Drive Suite in connection with Harold Carrington but it discusses Bremser as well:
