I second your statement on the value of Contemporary Literary Censorship, and, much like you, thoroughly dug through the footnotes, which have supplied a number of threads to pull. I very much am inspired by Goodman, and hope to bring the spirit of his descriptive reference guide into my Outskirts periodical project (http://outskirtsofthecity.com).

I’m thankful for Goodman, for this brief interview, and for the statement “[w]hen you do any research, you want to leave to the next generation a picture of what happened with as much clarity and correctness as possible,” which is a wise guiding principle which should be broadly held.

This is a great scholarly work.. So quaint to see expletives glossed as ‘anglo-saxon words’.. And to ponder bloated presumptions of US Postal Service in the 50s.. Wonderful interview, too.

Grauerholz wrote a brilliantly researched paper on Burroughs’ time in Chicago. I believe he gave it as a lecture in 2004 but so far as I know it has not appeared online or in a book, though presumably the research was incorporated into Barry Miles’ recent biography of Burroughs.

I have read James Grauerholz’s essay on the death of Joan but have not read his work on Burroughs in Chicago. Is this part of a book or online?
