Reply to Robert Persinger - We get it, you don't like Burroughs - your potted history of the man reveals more about you than Burroughs ."I am not a big fan of wm. Burroughs. I don’t care about his homosexuality, but the fantasies of violence are so unhealthy". Firstly, you cast aspersions without giving any reference, so your comment is no more than a random opine about "something you dont like" - WOW - Thats soooooo how the conservative mind truly works - moan about something while providing zero context or actual critique. You neither know Burroughs work, nor capable of critique.
Suggest you try harder before you expose yourself as the whiny person you are.

I just had a realization this day, this first night of summer. That perhaps Burrough's writing is in fact a work of art, much of it as pure a kind of art as there ever was. What I mean to say is I used to analyze the heck out of it and never look at the whole - inside. And if this is true, how magnificent that would be and what a great and hidden master of the brush. Kerouac could paint you a picture, but if I'm correct, Burroughs drag you right into his picture kicking and screaming. Great, now I must reread the collection. May you all have a good summer.

He also happened to kill his wife playing William Tell with a rifle, that is manslaughter.
Eric, Just wanted to say Happy New Year and thanks for all you have done with this site. It's a great resource for Burroughs fans and collectors alike. And I suspect its a true labour of love (or better known as a money pit!).

"Burroughs Called the Law" is one of my favorite pieces of audio. I don't think it has ever been published separately as a text (not that I can recall). Would you call it a poem?

"The Last Words Of Hassan I Sabbah" comes to mind.

The name "Burroughs" appears four times in the text at the link below:

http://www.interpc.fr/mapage/westernlands/Derniersmots.html

However, "Mr. Luce" is misspelled (loose) and it isn't as complete as the reading on the vinyl recording from the AM HERE BOOKS Catalogue. Number five if memory serves.

The link below may produce a more complete text:

Burroughs does use his own name from time to time, but that particular work isn't familiar. Where'd you hear of it?
