"An Interview With Mr. Martin" is on youtube.

A recording is 3.02 minutes long. It is a flawless recording. No noise. No other sound source is present -- just the sound of William's voice, clear and coherent.

So - the tape I referenced is now at Emory as well as the others. Now I turned up another and I wonder whether it might be in part the Weissner Klacto tape referenced above - was that the interview with Mr. Martin?

I am uncertain there this came from – been with me forever – I suspect it came to me from Lewis MacAdams but not certain. Might have been from Carl himself but the LA add on [early 1980's at Downtown Gallery] makes me think Lewis. The ICA recording is highly important and is Wiliam at his strongest. Curiously the ICA has no record of a recording having been made. I suspect there was an original reel to reel recording that was later dubbed onto the cassette. It is a bit early for there to have been a cassette recorder [1963] – I may be in error. The text as read differs from other known versions. The later recording is from the 1970’s and is text from CITIES - I suspect this came from Lewis McAdams. I have tried for almost a year to locate another copy of this but nothing seems to exist. Tape quality is excellent on both recordings. This will head to Emory as well. Let me know if you could whether or not the Klacto is the Mr. Martin interview - I don't believe it is.

Just uncovered original recording 60 minutes vintage cassette by WSB made in the middle to late 1960's [date evidence is Vic Damone song, Selma news reference from 1965, tape process similar to reading held in April 1965 in NYC - this is probably from around that point - number of radio stations are NYC] [tape itself which was in use from middle 60's on] Title is PORT OF SAINTS [but I think I may have supplied - based on parts of scrapbook that was used in the making of PORT OF SAINTS]. WSB reading his own writings from a variety of sources interspersed with radio broadcasts and static. Quite similar in feel to his scrapbooks. I purchased from William c. 1971 and it has sat in a forgotten box of tapes since then. There was also a recording made by Paul Blackburn of Ed Sanders in 1965 + Ginsberg, Corso and others. There are a host of open reel tapes....waiting for a machine to arrive to audit these. Hoping that the lost LAST WORDS OF HASSAN I SABBAH might be among these. Update next week - a rare event and quite exhilarating.
