Perry Press was the agent for the Crowley home as well as George Harrison and others. I liked him a good deal at the time and heard from him just before Covid for the first time in some 45 years or so. Perry took me to meet a very famous rock guitarist whose name I did not know. What a nice event it must be for the famed to truly not be recognized.

Hi,
I look forward to reading the excellent article about William B. and the 1972 tour. One thing: I bought the "Exile On Main Street" songbook and the lyric that is in question here is, "Kissing cut in Cannes". I've seen the alternate lyric swirling on the internet. I am unable to give you a definitive answer as to exactly how Mickette pronounces the lyric. Because in order to do so I would need to acquire psychedelics and put on Koss headphones after placing a "Do Not Even Think of Passing Through This Door" sign written in Cyrillic and 5 other languages.

So, just want to give you a heads up about it an an opinion on the lyric.

Thanks,
Jonno

I've read this 4 times now and it just keeps getting better, (even though I like 'ANGIE')...the Burroughs quote featured in the print ad for BRIAN JONES PRESENTS really put the hooks in me. It's not mentioned in Schottlaender's extensive bibliography (nor in M & M, being right on the cusp of the cut off of their coverage)...I need to figure out which issue of Rolling Stone it appeared in (or ISSUES possibly) and it probably ran in other music mags of the time. Jed's articles always send me on errands, and for that I am endlessly grateful.

This is a wonderfully comprehensive study and argument that effecively proves what has been suspected all along: Burroughs did not have music high on his everyday aesthetic agenda anyway and when it was, it certainly wasn't Rock-&-Roll or its Musicians with their "bulging" packages....
It is a salutary Obit to Anita P.
