I just found an original Dot DLP 3154 in one of the boxes of records my brother left with when he moved overseas. Many years ago the records were being thrown out and he rescued them.
Imagine my surprise when I found out how rare and valuable this album is. I wonder how many are still in existence and what this one might be worth. The record is in excellent condition but the jacket has some discoloration.
I’m curious as to why Hank’s purchase on eBay is not listed on popsike. Only a 2004 and a 2007 purchase plus a number of the Hanover recording are listed for eBay.

I just won an auction on eBay for the original Dot DLP 3154 in mint condition. $560 WOW!!
I have several copies of the Hanover.

Thanks for getting in touch with me. Not sure if the LPs are still available but Ken Grant had one for sale for $77 and CBCCollect has one for $36. Condition appears to be the difference in price. These might be old listings but it is a start.

Thanks for the comment. Interesting to hear about the acetate and the fact that you bought the LP on eBay. Since I wrote this in 2006 I see that another popped up on eBay since then. Only two copies on eBay since 2004 supports that 130-140 copy number. Not many copies for sure.

I had the “Dot” acetates of the 3154 Kerouac record, and sold them to a big time beat generation collector for $7,500.00. They were on (2) – 10″ hard heavy vinyl discs or records. I purchased them for $200.00 20 years ago. I still have the “DOT” lp listed above and purchased it on ebay about 10 years ago for $2,000.00. I havent seen it for some time. Only about 140 exist if that.

Ebay is the place for that record. There is a history of the Dot LP selling on eBay. Check http://www.popsike.com to see prices. Around $2500 for the last one I saw. If be undistributed you mean sealed then you have yourself quite a find. It was already a find. Dealers and collectors would like to get a hold of that LP. You should do well on Ebay.

This may not be the forum, but I have an uncirculated copy of Dot 3154/Kerouac record (actually found at a thrift store!). Any idea how to find a buyer? Don’t even know where to begin.
