I have a copy of (the Beach Press edition of) APO-33 from decades ago, bit rough but all there, and have considered putting it up for sale, as I am an image worker and not a collector. The figure of US$100 you mentioned was discouraging, however. Hardly worth the effort. Better to hang onto the experimental work.

In the 1960s we certainly would never have imagined Bill Burroughs would be up there in the panoply of great figures of literature: he was the ultimate outsider. Had he died young he and his reputation might have been whipped away by the winds of time. As it was his staying power proved to be a true ticket to enshrinement (funny word to use for him, I realize). He outlived just about all his enemies – and there were a number lined up against him.
