So interesting to read that - I lived in the same road as Malcolm and was at school with him in the 1960's, and have never forgotten his illustration of 'The Men from UNCLE' (Robert Vaughn and David McCallum) which was pinned up outside the art room so that all of us 1960's schoolgirls could drool over it. His work was so obviously in a very different league even then.

Good, very interesting interview. Made me want to see the tome in question, but it's a bit expensive to buy though...

A great interview, I was ignorant to Bill's collaboration with the graphic novel, it makes sense given the direction of the Cut-Up's and the Cut-Up trilogy. From what I've seen, they both did a fantastic job and it is a shame that this stuff wasnt widely read in the mid seventies, it would have changed the face of the graphic novel.
As it stands now, I believe the true inheritors of Bill's legacy are graphic novelists such as Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, Paul Pope and Garth Ennis- who have touched upon the Burroughsian and whose work slightly resembles the Ah Puch illistrations. If you're interested in this type of 'comic', I highly recommend "100%", "The Invisibles" and "The Watchmen" as excellent starters.

So satisfyingly rare, in this present world of 'techno/blando', to experience Fine Art/Literature that opens ones mind as apposed to the blugeoning of the likes mentioned above,i.e. '300' and 'Sin City' etc. We are all just fresh out of the trees but the cream continues to float to the top in spite of it all. Do it again please.
