yes thanks, Jpaul.

In a recent magazine article, Burroughs told of the reaction he received when he offered a group of students he was lecturing, plans for what he described as "a wishing machine". It was a device that, through massed concentration, might dramatically increase the chance of a wish coming true.

that reminds me of that sense , when you wake up in the morning and you say , I believe this good thing will happen, and it happens! :)

And there's this technique. If say you have something that you can't figure out, or you can't decide on, write it down on a piece of paper three times. Fold the paper three times and put it into your pillow. In the morning you may have the answer.

No, I'm not kidding. It's all tapping into the unconcious mind you know. I did try it a few times, and once it was helpful. Pre-programing dreams is another tool: and guiding yourself into out of body experiences, OBEs. Burroughs was very into the Robert Monroe book about this. Facinating.

Reproducing the text of an email I sent to the Coil list:

Last night, going deep into this morning, my friends and I in Herd Deep recorded a track called "91 Poem 12". It did not start out having anything to do with Coil, the idea was to compose a soundscape/backing track for a poem by a friend of ours. This friend has never even heard Coil, but it has come out sounding very Coil-ish I think, thinking particularly of Brocolli (in the backing vocals, which are female)and I did include Jhonn Balance in the track, after having changed my mind several times about which sounds to use, hidden by electricity and Reaktor. So it features :
Gary A Ayres on Korg MS2000
JPaul Morton on Reaktor samplers and synths
Jeanne Dickinson on backing vocals
Andy Barham on vocals and words
Jhonn Balance on electricity and elementals

download it at :
http://www.the-alembic.co.ukon the MP3 page under "collaborations"

Thank you and I sincerely hope this is taken in the spirit in which it is intended.

(Today Sunday the 13th of November is the first anniversary of Jhonn Balance's death, just to clarify the reasons for this )
