Here's a review of the newest WSB documentary, A Man Within, by a friend of William's, the film scholar Raymond Owen.

Mr. Owen likes the film, but doesn't like how the Joan segment appears so late in it.

What I don't like is that Owen wouldn't consent to being interviewed for it. At least that's my understanding. Movie people. Go figure.

Seems like a decent review of the film to me. What I don't understand is why Mr Owen thinks that Genesis P-Orridge is the one "who introduced William to Brion Gysin." That's just plain wrong.

More misinformation. Huge quote that was originally Genesis speaking about William but has now been remade into a quote by William about Genesis. Craaaaaaaaazy.

Yes, that's a factual error, Genesis did not introduce William to Brion. I don't know where Owen got that.

Also, Owen writes:

Much of Burroughs’ affectless demeanor can be attributed to what Grauerholz, Burroughs’ long-time secretary and manager, here calls the “hubris of remorse,”

Maybe should have read something like:

Much of Burroughs' affectless demeanor can be attributed to William AVOIDING what Grauerholz calls the "hubris of remorse."

Still in all, I liked the review and respect and fear Raymond Owen.
