Voyeur aural esthetics; Ellroy used to lustily listen to Beethoven before going out peeping and creeping through windows:

Reading The Hilliker Curse: My Pursuit of Women by Ellroy right now, unappealingly appallingly detailing his obsession with women and his pathological mindsets. Fascinating and deeply disturbing in equal measure, and some of the language is incredibly beautyfuel and poeticizified. Definitely worth a look. Must admit though, another song the overall mental atmosfear makes me think of is less subtle:

1. Ellroy, James, 1948- Relationships with women.
2. Novelists, American - 20th century - Family relationships.
3. Mothers - Death - Psychological aspects.
