Is this book worth reading? It's not cheap, but sounds interesting...

only if its a biog of ALBERT AYLER tee hee. waste of great title otherwise.........

It is strong on the early Beats, particularly the philosophical and religious underpinnings of the New Vision Beats of the Hippos era. I would not say it is an entertaining read in any way, the writing is all business. But I would get it from the library.

The Bopocalypse would have been a better title. I don't necessarily need entertainment, Jed, I need education. And it sounds like a good education on some of the wacky pseudo-philosophical underpinnings (Spengler et al) underlying the early Beats and their nascent blooming wordworldviews. But they don't have it in the library, unfortunately. Was contemplating buying it, but it's not available cheap second hand.
