I flew from Virginia to Chicago for a whirlwind day of books/beer/records/baseball/burroughs. The Cubs were playing the Mets, The Map Room had 'Hop Mouth' on cask, Reckless Records had several of Eugene Chadborne's homemade cds...and the NAKED LUNCH event was outstanding. Giorno and Waldman were both totally riveting, and I had a chance to chat with Hal Wilner, if only briefly. Many Burroughs paintings on display around the room, and Yony's film trailer was really really good.

In my whirlwindedness, I left my camera at home! I did get everyone to sign my flyer (James G. was a no-show)...I noticed a photographer taking MANY pix and I think several parts were videotaped, so hopefully they'll show up soon. Giorno's performance was really touching. Ann Waldman's performance made me dizzy with its frantic energy. Peter Weller also did a great job, closing with THE TALKING ASSHOLE (natch)...

Thanks for the album. I was packed to go but my Mom took ill so I went West instead of East. Here is a Chicago radio show from the event. I loved hearing it.
