'Sometime during the 1980s, I remember newspaper stories about the CIA admitting that it placed dis-information in the form of magazine and newspaper articles all over the place, throughout the cold war. The excuse was of course, national security and staying ahead of the Ivans & Maoists. Frankly, I believe that the tentacles of usa intelligence agencies went well beyond mass media agencies like TIME and National Geographic, and they still do today.'
