Hiya Robert, I stumbled across the Jeff Nuttall website and noticed that you'd designed it.

I was lucky enough to know Jeff (told him he was my spiritual dad) from 1982 and had many adventures, also corresponded with him over the years (still got some letters and postcards).

Anyway, I digress; some good news perhaps...

The Fat Man asked me to do something for Knuckleduster Funnies (post-Liverpool 'resignation', he was an external assessor for my degree show); I ended-up in issue no.2. As they 'spasmodically' appeared, he'd post one through to me, so there are two full sets of Knuckleduster Funnies in existence!

I knew they were small print runs, but assumed enough people knew Jeff and the rest for there to be plenty about.

In 1982, he (literally) introduced me to Burroughs at the Final Academy - I have an unseen 3 minute mute super 8 film of Adrian Henri, Jeff, John Giorno and Burroughs all performing (no sound!) - only person to get any footage as everyone else had video cameras with lights and Burroughs didn't want any glare as he read - Jeff squared it with Bill so that I could film as I didn't need light - he was also responsible for me being published in Ambit in 1983.

I have a painting by Jeff too.

Onwards and upwards Brian
